Ross Castle, located in Killarney National Park in County Kerry, Ireland. Visiting Ireland was a dream come true for me, and it didn’t let me down. The park itself is gorgeous, but if you take the trail path about a mile and a half in, you’ll stumble across this majestic beauty that literally feels like it popped out of nowhere, dragging you back to the 15th century. I love history, especially touching it. When I do, it feels as though I can see and hear all of the people who lived here, walked these floors, and feasted in the great hall.
In 2008, when we visited, they were in the midst of restoring this lovely tower to its original glory. I’d love to return again to see the progress they made. If you ever visit this vibrant, friendly, and gorgeous country, make a plan to visit this park.
